Twin City American Patented Track Bridge Cranes from Mt. Clemens CraneSingle girder cranes have a single Patented Track bridge beam. It is supported by a pair of end trucks riding on monorail sections on either side of the spanning piece of monorail. For special operations, cranes can be supplied that operate on multiple runways. A variety of hooks, hoists or specially built lifting systems can be mounted below the single girder crane to give you the lifting power and access you need. Single girder cranes can be hand, electric or air operated. Interlocks can be added to join cranes end to end creating a systems of cranes that can provide the means to move one hoist from crane bridge to crane bridge.

Twin City American Double Girder Patented Track Crane from Mt. Clemens Crane

Double girder cranes are similar to the single girder variety except the hoist mechanism is suspended from a pair of bridge beams suspended between the supporting monorail tracks. The advantage of a double girder crane is that the Double Girder Crane is also more suitable for spanning longer distances because of the extra strength provided by the second rail. It also positions the hoist between the rails rather than below the rail like in the single girder crane. This offers the operator more distance between the floor and hoisting mechanism. This crane systems is also available in a multi-runway design.


Truss cranes are designed to handle extra long spans of up to and over 100 feet. This type of crane also allows for extra headroom by placing the hoisting mechanism between the two outer trusses. Two Trusses are mounted to end trucks with the bridge beam suspended between the trusses. Since the bridge beam can be supported in multiple locations along the span, the bridge beam size can be minimized.  The truss design is also lighter than a double girder design.
